Premier Living by the Beach
Posted on July 1, 2008
WHEN the rich and famous think of beach destinations, they think of the French Riviera; Phuket, Thailand; Bali, Indonesia; and even our very own Boracay. The sandy beaches and the party nightlife that these tourist spots are known for make them hot stops for those who want to party.
Costa del Hamilo, a subsidiary of SM Investments Corp., reinvents the concept of beach destinations with its Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club, a premier, membership-only, eco-friendly leisure and coastal facility, one of the features of Pico de Loro Cove in Hamilo Coast in Nasugbu, Batangas. This 4-hectare development is expected to redefine the condo-living lifestyle for country-club members by promoting overall wellness through healthy interaction, environmental preservation and enhancement.
During the property’s launch last week at One Esplanade at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, SM Investment Corp.’s Elizabeth Sy said this beach development “celebrates the good life.”
Living the good life promises to take on new meaning at Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club. Tucked away in Pico de Loro Cove, the first cove at the Hamilo Coast development to be started, this exclusive private-membership club offers luxury and adventure. Members will discover true wellness that echoes the tranquil serenity of nature as they immerse themselves in bird-watching, nature-trekking and other eco-friendly activities.
Sy added, “It is also a celebration of nature in partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature [WWF].”
Scheduled to be opened by year-end is the Beach Club, which is situated at the beach side of Pico de Loro Cove. Amenities offered at the Beach Club include a clubhouse, lounge, multi-purpose hall and game room, infinity and children’s pools, a sky bar, coffee shop and juice bar, massage huts, locker rooms, clinic and view deck.
Water-sports facilities will also be available at the Beach Club to cater to the needs of members. With its sandy beachfront, members can swim, kayak or use a hobie craft to explore the waters of Pico de Loro Cove.
Located at the opposite side of Pico de Loro Cove is the Country Club, which will have an Olympic-sized swimming pool, covered courts for racket sports, rock-climbing wall, bowling and billiards halls, basketball court, gym, al-fresco restaurant, banquet and multipurpose rooms, library, kiddie room and proshop. A shuttle service will bring members to and from the Beach Club, the Country Club and around the 4-hectare property.
Sy says what makes the Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club project different from other resort developments in the country is that it integrates a number of environment-friendly components, including a local marine rehabilitation and conservation, ecotourism and waste-management programs to safeguard the local surroundings.
Helping make this possible is the club’s partnership with the WWF, which ensures that its operations will preserve and sustain the area’s natural resources, as well as create livelihood opportunities for the local folk through various initiatives.
Guests present during the Pico de Loro opening were SM’s Henry Sy Sr., his son Hans Sy, and the sales and marketing teams of SM Investments Corp.
